Social Media marketing tips for your Spa or Salon - Part 2: Instagram

In our last blog (read Part 1: Facebook here) we covered tons of tips for Facebook and in this blog we'll take a look at Facebook's younger social network, Instagram

Use trendy hashtags with your photos to find potential customers that might be interested in your services. An example would be #happyvalentine as one hashtag to gain more views while showing a picture of your valentines special service offer

Don't forget to add a hashtag to your geographical location - if you are in Vancouver, be sure to add #Vancouver to every Instagram post

Before and After photos are hot - everyone loves to see beautiful results and with the right hashtags, these posts have tremendous potential to grow your client base.

If you're running out of ideas, add some fun or quirky memes. Intragram users are young and trendy and enjoy fun, quirky posts to break up product or service only related posts. Try to keep your memes messages on brand - think of how they would help define your image.

Another great idea, if you need some customer related photos, is to hold a Instagram exclusive contest. Hold a photo contest among your followers, such as "Post a photo of your sexiest short outfit that shows off your legs - with the hashtag #SexyLegsSalon and be entered to win your next laser hair removal treatment free!"

Post promotions on Instagram to keep your customers aware of new things going on in your salon. Think outside of the box, you might try a "Back to School Special - FOR MOM - 30% off a skin rejuvenation facial treatment, because you soooo deserve it"
