Social Media marketing tips for your Spa or Salon - Part 1: Facebook

Social media is a great way to engage with your current and potential customers! The beauty industry is always trending on Facebook and Instagram, and spreading more awareness about your services helps create loyalty among your customers as well as introducing new customers to what makes your salon unique. In this blog post, I will just focus on Facebook tips to help transform your spa or salon's social media strategy - Watch for my next blog post for ideas and tips for Instagram.

Write posts that customers will want to respond to and give their opinion on. An example would be to ask questions like "Summer is here ladies, will you be getting a Brazilian treatment, or are you too afraid to give it a try?" This type of conversation starter is relevant, personalized and something a majority of salon-goers will discuss

Post pictures, and lots of them! Photos get much more response than text, in fact 120% more, and you should be proudly showcasing your work. Remember to keep it seasonal, whether that's fun holiday-themed, bridal themed or even the latest hot topic. Remember, if you post photos with your customers, they will share their photo with their own personal networks and help bring new referrals through your front doors.

Treat your Facebook page as a mini website. When customers arrive on your Facebook page they should be able to find all the information they're looking for. Use the various Facebook tabs to show your salon locations, services, photos, reviews and events.

Engage customers through Facebook contests and giveaways - People love free stuff! Promote gift cards on Valentines, Mother's Day and Christmas and your customers will love the ease of being able to receive the promotion on Facebook. They will likely leave comments and hearts as well as share it with their own Facebook friends - win win.

Use Facebook ads to target to your specific geographic location and potential customers interests. An example would be those who like skin rejuvenation products and want to find a nearby salon that uses the products or services you offer.
